Before care
Please remember to fill out and return intake/consent form.
If menstruating- please reschedule.
Arrive hydrated.
Please arrive with brushed and dry hair for full experience of head massage.
Give time to cool off if arriving on bike or after strenuous exercise.
Give 1-2 hours after food.
Don’t wear your best clothes as you will be oily!
Abhyanga is not recommended when congestion is present. If you have sinus congestion, allergies or cold/flu please reschedule.
To gain the most from your treatment, it will be carried out in silence. However, if you are experiencing any discomfort or pain, please speak up.
You will find the body is more exposed than conventional massage. If this feels uncomfortable, or you feel cold, please speak up.
Please empty your bladder.
After care
Generally
Avoid day sleeping.
Avoid exposure to excessive drafts. Nice to bring a scarf/shawl if windy.
Good hydration- drink warm water.
Avoid direct sunlight.
Recommend a soupy dhal/kitchery or a light/easy to digest diet.
Relaxation; refrain from exercise for the rest of the day.
Avoid moving from hot and cold temperatures.
With Abhyanga
It is recommended to have a steam or sauna, if unavailable take a hot shower/bath.
It is best to not use soap but leave thin layer of oil.
Do not leave oil in the hair for bedtime.
With Kati Basti
Avoid any physiotherapy, chiropractic or other sessions for the same day.
